Hello, my name is Christy Collier and I am a wife, a Sorts Mom, a sister and a friend to many. My passion in life has always been to help other people. Whether it be through counseling people with cancer, running charity organizations, blogging on life, getting healthy, teaching yoga, designing clothes, sending inspirations or helping them to become confident.
My first love is designing clothes and putting together accessories. I am a co-founder of the clothing line called Amelia James but I want to go farther than that even and have at least 4 other brands that I will design outfits with. This should be coming soon.
I am also a teambeachbody nutrition and fitness coach. My journey as a coach started because an a co worker from a previous charity function, saw on social media that I had cancer and was taking radiation and she thought that shakeology would not only build my immune system up but give me energy. She was a beachbody coach. You see, I was working 40 plus hours a week and running my son to basketball practices and attending all his games and keeping the house clean, and laundry caught up and the yard work and I was a treasurer for a baseball organization that had 13 teams that I had to keep financial records for and file taxes for. That is a lot for someone who is healthy yet alone for someone who is fighting Cancer. After sending me some samples and literature and seeing all the nutrients and vitamins that it had in it, I knew that I had nothing to loose and everything to gain. And so in October 2015 I placed my first order.
For the next year, I drank shakeology once a day, everyday. And she was absolutely right. My immune system slowly fought back against the damage the radiation was trying to do to my good cells. I had enough energy to keep up with my work hours, my son’s schedule and all the extra’s. Now the best part is yet to be told.
You see my coach, didn’t know of my other health issues. When thinking back, they didn’t seem important compared to the fact that I could die with the tumor growing inside of me. My oncologist was taking care of my cancer, my family doctor was taking care of my other issues. I had high cholesterol that was heredity and high blood pressure that came along with that and high stress levels causing chest pains and a hypo thyroid. I was a hot mess!!
Have you seen the commercials for cholesterol lowering medication? Repitor! And then listen to the side effects. Nope. I had a better chance of living with the high cholesterol then taking the medication. And so I used google and I studied my Cancer and my high cholesterol and found the good foods and the bad foods that might have been making my different diseases worse and I stopped them immediately. Thank goodness shakeology had all the good foods in it. I decided to continue to research cancer and become a certified nutritionist. In March of 2016, I was Cancer free. In May of 2016, my cholesterol was 180 compared to 467 when I started the shakeology. My blood pressure was normal. Now it was time to start studying stress. Which by the way is the leading cause of Cancer cells becoming active and Cancer cells growing. And with my testimonial and my research I decided to become a teambeachbody coach and promote shakeology.
So why did I become a coach and what does coaching mean to me? I became a coach because I had lost 7 family members to Cancer and several friends. I promised my mother when she was dying that I would do everything to stay Cancer free and help other people to do the same. I don’t take promises lightly. I had the knowledge and the tools, I just needed the training from teambeachbody for the shakeology and different work out programs. Or so I thought. I started out taking coach lessons on line and a couple months later I went up to Chicago to Coach Camp 2016. In July 2016 I went to a huge convention in Nashville, TN., where there was over 40, 000 coaches eager to learn and share. I met so many wonderful new friends that came from all over the United States and all had their own stories to tell. I still keep in touch with them and have met many more throughout my journey. We have live training and Super Saturdays and webinars and Zoom calls. We are constantly learning and growing.
So yes, it can be exciting to be a coach, but to me being a coach is to betaken very seriously. It means that I first and foremost, I have the desire to help others and second I have the required knowledge . I have decided to work with Cancer patients or people who have loved ones with Cancer. My experience sadly is a lot but my mother taught me before she passed to use that experience to help people going through their roughest times. So I do offer a free support service that is open 24/7 to anyone who needs to vent or cry or be mad or gain information and become determined to fight. All names are withheld unless a written permission note signed by a notary is given when you want other people to hear your testimony.
My clothing line carries active wear, which fits in perfect with the exercises that I promote through team beach body. I am designing this website to give women a little bit of everything.
